Window prep
This weekend Erick and I busted our butts getting the window and door holes ready to have the windows and doors installed today. Between the two of us, we put in almost 40 hours of work, on the hottest weekend of the year to date. And then this morning I got a call from the window place saying that the job scheduling guy went on vacation before they could get confirmation about coming out to do our job this morning, so they're not coming until tomorrow. Good thing we were ready! ;)
The top picture is when we finished on Saturday night.

Our weekend went like this - work, heat stroke, break, work, heat stroke, break, and so on. Rosie tossed in a bit horse time and a trip to town to pay for the new appliances - not to mention all of the putting up with me while I figured out what we were doing... all things that needed doing.
I know window prep doesn't sound like a difficult task, but when you have 22 windows and 2 doors... Sweet Jesus.
This process started with cutting the rough openings. Next was removing 1.5 inches of high density foam to accept the 2x4 frame. Then we foamed, leveled, sqauared and installed a the 2x4 frame. Once the end was in sight we had to tyek and strap the outside of the frame to keep the window in-line with the siding. Now we think we have it beat, but as we found out we still had 40 hours of work to do. I lost track of the hours I have into the windows/doors, but I know it is all we have done for the past 3 weeks.
You forgot to mention all the time we spent moving around staging. That part was the most fun, wasn't it? ;)
Each piece of staging probably weighs 60lb or so... imagine lugging those things around in full sun and 30+ degree heat!
