Meet Boundless

This is Boundless.  I've had my eye on him since he was about 6 months old, and last week I went to Kathleen Richardson's Sunny Days Hannoverians in Ontario to see him.  He's got the looks, the personality, and the movement, so come November he will be making the trip to his new home in Musquash. :)
He's a 2 year old registered Hannoverian gelding by Belissimo M out of an Autocrat x Eiger I mare.  He should mature to about 16.2, and he is a real sensible sweetheart.  On Wednesday he went for his first trip off the property in 2 years (for his pre purchase exam) and he behaved himself quite nicely, and in addition learned to longe, crosstie, and ground tie all in the course of his PPE.
Here are some photos of Boundless that Kathleen has taken over the past two years.  Isn't he cute??

Plein air painting event in St. Andrews

This weekend was the annual 'Artists by the Sea' charity event for the Hospice of Charlotte.  My sister (Poppy Balser http://www.poppybalser.com/) and I attended, as usual.  We both had a very successful weekend with lots of good paintings done on site and lots of sales.  I haven't taken the photos of my paintings off my camera yet, but here's one of me painting taken by one of the other artists at the event.  Poppy and I spent the whole day on Saturday painting from the back deck of the Jolly Breeze terminal near the wharf.  The light was lovely, and there was a huge array of boats and nice scenery to paint.

Down by the pond

We had beautiful weather last weekend.  Saturday afternoon was absolutely gorgeous, so I took my pastels and paper down to our pond, and I sat on one of the large flat rocks at the edge, and painted this view of the far side.  It's 9 x 12 inches.

Down by the Pond, 9 x 12 inches, soft pastel, $135 unframed
